Travis Pearson, 28, a member of the Blood Stones Army, pleaded guilty one count of attempted assault, a violent felony, and one count of second-degree conspiracy. His plea was accepted in Westchester County Court on Tuesday.
Pearson was arrested and charged as part of a larger gang sweep in the Nodine Hill section of Yonkers in the beginning of May, which led to the arrests of several members of the Blood Stones Army, who were charged on a multi-count indictment.
On Jan. 20 last year, Pearson approached a rival gang member near the intersection of Yonkers Avenue and Walnut Street, where he slashed at the face of his victim with a sharp weapon in an attempt to cause serious physical injury, leading to the attempted assault charge.
Westchester County District Attorney Anthony Scarpino, Jr. noted that Pearson also pleaded guilty to “conspiring with other Blood Stone members to assert control over the Nodine Hill area by means of violence, including, but not limited to, shootings, assaults and firearms possession.” He and his other gang members were all “parties to a conspiratorial agreement to kill rivals.”
Pearson is scheduled to be sentenced on Feb. 13 next year, when he is expected to receive terms of four and a half to nine years in prison for the conspiracy charge and seven years for the attempted assault.
